Meta Descriptions
The meta description is the short text snippet shown beneath your page title in search results. Search engines use it to generate the result snippet — though they may substitute their own text if yours is missing, too short, or a poor match for the query. A well-written description won't directly improve rankings, but it signals to searchers that your page is relevant and encourages them to click. These checks audit every aspect of meta description quality: presence, uniqueness, length, placement, and pixel-width rendering.
No description tag found — engines write their own snippet.
More than one tag — usually a template or plugin conflict.
Same description on multiple pages — engines can't differentiate.
Tag placed outside <head> — ignored by search engines.
Too short — leaves most of the available snippet space unused.
Too long — will be cut off in most search result layouts.
Renders too narrow — engines are likely to substitute their own text.
Renders too wide — truncated in all major search result layouts.
